Playing music in the car does not use more fuel. The specific reasons and fuel-consuming behaviours are as follows:

Specific reasons:

Listening to music while driving does not consume extra fuel or increase fuel consumption. This is because, unlike when parked, the car is not using power from the battery but rather the rectified DC output from the alternator. As long as the engine is running, the alternator is operational, so the minimal power required won't increase fuel consumption.

Fuel-consuming behaviours:

Some manual drivers habitually use a high gear while maintaining low RPM, believing this saves fuel and reduces engine wear. In fact, the opposite is true. During tuning, each car is calibrated to achieve optimal fuel efficiency in direct drive. Using a high gear at low speeds can lead to carbon buildup inside the engine, increasing fuel consumption and causing the car to lose power. It may also result in engine shuddering and premature wear.
