The Golf's 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, codenamed EA211-DJS, delivers a maximum power of 110 kW and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Its maximum power output occurs between 5,000 to 6,000 rpm, while peak torque is available from 1,750 to 3,000 rpm.

This engine features direct fuel injection technology and utilizes an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block.
