Description

We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year, and we need your help to ensure they run smoothly. Help us raise money, and have fun doing it!

Why we need you:

During 2015-16, it cost £4.1 million to run all our hospice services. We receive limited NHS funding, so we need to fundraise most of this. The Events Fundraising Team is aiming to bring in nearly £200,000 for the Hospice’s patients and families this year. YOU could assist us in reaching that target, so that we can continue being there for local families facing one of the most difficult journeys in life.

We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year, and we need your help to ensure they run smoothly.

What you will be doing:

Help as required on the day of the event. What you will be asked to do will vary depending on the event but it may involve:

Helping set up the event
Registering participants
Helping people park
Serve refreshments
Sell official St Clare Hospice merchandise and other donated items
Marshalling runners on a course
Run information desk – informing the public about the work of the Hospice
Running a raffle
Help clear up after the event
We also would love it if anyone wanted to be our Clare Bear Mascot on various occasions throughout the year.

If you prefer only to do a few of these activities, that is fine, just let us know what you prefer to do – we still would like to hear from you!

Availability required:

Some of our key events during the year are as follows:

Light Up A Life – Wednesday 13th December 7-9pm & Saturday 16th December 2017 4:30 – 7pm.

Santa Fun Run – 3rd December 2017 12 – 3pm.

If you don’t see an event here that matches your availability please do still get in touch. We have a number of smaller events throughout the year such as community collections that you may be able to assist with. You will only need a few hours of time. Most of our events tend to be evenings or weekends.

Where the role is based: Our events take place across West Essex, though many are at St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood, CM17 9JX.

What skills you will need:

You will need to be reliable, friendly and enthusiastic about the work of St Clare Hospice. You must be able to get to events in the independently and (depending on the event) you may need to be outside in inclement weather.

Support you will be given:

You will receive information in advance of the event and a member of the Fundraising team will be on hand to allocate you a role and support you at each event.
