So, here we have my 2005 Golf GTi. I bought this car with the intention of spending a bit on it to make it a little different. However due to a change in circumstances, something else popped up that I could not say no to.
The car has service history up to 98k, and it is now on 106k. After approximately a week of ownership the oil pressure light came on, I switched the car off and had it recovered immediately, under the illusion that it had suffered the oil pump failure that is a known issue with these AXX engines. The garage inspected the bottom end and discovered it was just the pickup pipe and strainer that had become blocked, so these were replaced, and since that the car has not missed a beat.
The passenger wing had the common rust problem, but both the wings have been replaced by VW under warranty, this was completed on the 10th October 2017.

Going back on the cars history, it has had 6 owners, me being the 7th. It has an extensive paperwork history. The engine has had the cam follower changed (I have the old one in packaging to prove) at 103k with an oil and filter change at the same time, it also had a new boost pressure valve fitted around the same time.
In the last year, the cambelt has been replaced, along with the chain too. The thermostats have been done, and the diverter valve as well.

Now onto the car itself... It’s black. Standard inside and out. 6 speed manual. It has the coming home feature, where the lights will stay on for 30 seconds in the dark, and will illuminate when you unlock the car at night. The multi-CD changer has been removed and has been replaced with a Denison Lite box, which allows USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity through the original stereo. The stereo is the LCD screen one, which has built in sat nav, the CD for the sat nav is in there, it’s the 2016 version so if you do a lot of long distance travelling I would suggest getting the latest one. It has the tartan cloth interior, yes the drivers bolster has a little bit of wear and tear but given the mileage and the age of the car I would describe it as minimal.

Exterior.... all 4 wheels have seen the pavement in their lifetime, a centre cap is missing. I would say this is the biggest let down of the car, as the wheels are the first thing you notice. The tyres are nearing the end of their lifetime, but still have some life left in them. The rear drivers’ arch has a small lacquer peel patch (see photos). But apart from that, again I would describe the condition as good for its age, a good solid day with a mop and HD polish would really give this car its true look.

The most recent MOT does have some advisories; it was a very picky tester. When the sump was off the guys had a look under the car for me and said there was nothing to worry about, the suspension spring had surface rust, and the only small bit of corrosion was on a brake line. Obviously the tyres were mentioned too.

I have tried to be as honest as possible here.

No test drives without insurance, but I will happily take you out.

Any questions then please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

I do believe the asking price to be fair, but I am open to offers as I do require this to be gone quite promptly.
This is advertised elsewhere so I will remove the listing if it sells.
