Kanstul 1606 Tenor Trombone

Here I have my lovely Kanstul 1606 trombone, made in the Kanstul factory in Anheim and based off the old Williams model 6 trombone. Its a lovely trombone with a super thin lightweight bell that can really take a lot of sound in it and project amazingly; I got it last year and used it for a month run of shows but then didn’t really use it and reverted back to my king 2b.

It’s .500 bore with an 8 inch yellow brass bell and works brilliantly for jazz and pop stuff although I have used it on the occasional classical gig when a plug isn’t required. Super comfy to hold with curved brace on hand slide.

Several tiny mute dings on it and you can see where a dent has been taken out of the bell, but that doesn’t affect the sound at all and the slide is probably the best I have! I’ve tried to show it as clearly as possible! It also has a small lacquer fault on the bell but it’s hard to show on photos but a slightly foggy patch on it.

It comes with a three lead pipes (one in the hooter and two others) as well as a Tom and Will gig bag which shows age related marks (slightly tatty corners). No mouthpiece but I can throw in an unnamed small bore mouthpiece or for an extra £20 I can chuck in a wick 6bs mouthpiece.

£1550 or open to interesting trades of small bores or plug tenors and offers if it’ll help this fab horn find a new home!
