People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Wednesbury, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities to develop and progress.

Shifts:• Monday to Friday• 06:00 start times

Rates of Pay:• GBP18.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:• Operate and drive HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently• Deliver flat sheet steel panels (up to two-tonne packs) to various locations• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections• Ensure all loads are safely and securely fastened using appropriate restraints• Adhere to all UK road traffic laws and safety regulations• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management• Maintain a professional attitude and uphold site safety standards at all times

Essential Skills:• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence• Minimum of 12 months' experience driving C+E vehicles• Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card• No more than six points for minor offences (no major endorsements)• Previous experience working with steel loads is essential• Good level of written and spoken English• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping• Strong understanding of UK transport and safety regulations• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:• Previous experience with multi-drop deliveries• Experience operating other commercial vehicles

Training Provided:• Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your employment
