We have an opportunity available for an experienced HGV Chassis Engineer. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a forward-thinking working environment, completing scheduled targets, to join our dynamic team

Responsibilities

Wheelbase Alterations:

Extending or shortening the wheelbase of a vehicle to optimize weight distribution or manoeuvrability.

Axle Configuration:

Repositioning axles, adding or removing axles, and adjusting axle weight distribution to meet operational requirements.

Component Integration:

Ensuring proper installation of various chassis components, including suspension systems, braking systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.

Removing Existing Bodies and refitting to alternative chassis' - changing subframes to suit and welding crossmembers in place where needed

Installation of PTO systems to a range of trucks

Problem Solving:

Diagnosing and resolving chassis-related issues, including structural weaknesses, mechanical failures, and electrical malfunctions

Welding experience is essential for this role to be able to fabricate and install made to measure parts

Basic mechanical experience is also essential, understanding of the air and brake system of a truck

Experience

Proven experience in engineering roles, preferably within a related industry.

Experience using Forklift trucks to move parts and panels into place

Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions through effective root cause analysis techniques.

Class 2/Class 1 Licence - advantage but not essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: GBP16.00-GBP18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
