Grounds Maintenance Operative

Description

Straight Forward Recruitment are looking for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join a busy outdoor operations team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be helping to keep public spaces and green areas well maintained and presentable.

You’ll be carrying out tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning shrubs, maintaining flower beds, herbicide application, and general site duties. You will also be required to operate machinery and equipment, and drive a truck with trailer between sites.

Pay Rate

£13.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, and flower bed maintenance

Herbicide spraying on hard and soft landscaping

Driving a truck and trailer between sites

Using machinery including ride-on mowers, brush cutters, hedge cutters, wood chippers, and chainsaws

General grounds and site maintenance including litter picking

Requirements

Full UK driving licence (with trailer towing preferred)

Grounds maintenance experience

Knowledge of safe working practices and health & safety regulations

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Relevant NPTC/Lantra qualifications desirable but not essential
