Our people focused HR Team are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to support the team with all aspects of the HR responsibilities.

There is no such thing as a typical day at Birtwistle's which makes it all the more fun.

The main focus of your role is to support the HR Manager and management team in Human Resources practices and processes, ensuring the consistency of company strategy, objectives and initiatives in line with the overall business strategy.

Your responsibilities will include

Support and manage the full range of HR Activities within the employee lifecycleSupport and manage the recruitment cycle from requirement through to selection and onboarding to meet business needsProvide advice and guidance on a variety of Employee Relations issues and people related mattersInvolvement in Disciplinary and Grievance matters, investigations and hearingsUse HR Systems to record time and attendanceTo oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performanceTo ensure legal compliance and keep up to date with Company policies and proceduresSupporting the employee wellbeing and mental health process and initiativesSupport the leadership team in maintaining standards and a positive site cultureCover for the HR Manager where requiredKeywords: HR | HR Advisor | Employee Relations | Personnel | Recruitment | Disciplinary | Grievance | Absence Management | Recruitment | Communication | IT Literate | Excel | Administration | Data Entry | Onboarding | Employment Law

To be successful in this role it is essential you are people focused and results driven and have previous experience in a HR Advisor role or equivalent within a fast-paced environment and you will need to have good understanding of Employment Law and practice and the employee lifecycle, including demonstrable knowledge of ER Case management.

You will need to have excellent communication and listening skills and competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels within the company.

You will have good knowledge and experience of using HR Systems and databases and have excellent computer skills including use of spreadsheets.

You will need to be self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and have the ability to work to targets and strict deadlines.

Desirable Skills

Data Analysis and report writing skills.
