Location: HammersmithPosition: Teaching AssistantContract Type: Temp to PermStart date: ASAPVeritas Education have an amazing opportunity at an OFSTED 'outstanding' school that are looking to hire a teaching assistant for a KS1 classroom for an immediate start to work with a SEN student in a 1:1 capacity. This could be the ideal role for a graduate seeking teaching experience before teacher training or an experienced teaching assistant looking to further their career in a growing and thriving organisation.

The school are a 2 form entry with supportive staff across the year group that are happy to assist new teaching assistants to settle into their new setting. Furthermore, its closely located to a tube station and offers parking for all long term staff.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEACHING ASSISTANT

Teaching Assistant support for Pupils

Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leaderSet challenging and demanding expectations and promote self–esteem and independenceImplement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learningEstablish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectationsPromote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupilsProvide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacherTeaching Assistant Support for Teachers

Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' workUse strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goalsDiscuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will beMonitor pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately record and feedback to the teacher as directedQUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHING ASSISTANT

Desirable for a teaching assistant
