Sports Coach/Cover Supervisor:

Smile Education is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools in the Sutton area to recruit a passionate and reliable Sports Coach/Cover Supervisor to join their team starting in Oct 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning in a supportive and well-structured school environment.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor/Sports Coach, you will be responsible for delivering engaging PE lessons, supervising students during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned lessons, and maintaining a calm and productive classroom environment. You may also work on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting students with their PE and academic and personal development across a range of subjects.

This is a varied and rewarding role ideal for those considering a future in teaching or education more broadly.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-prepared PE lessons and manage classroom behaviour effectively

Support students with learning activities during lessons and interventions

Ensure a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to assist student progressThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting

Experience in Sports Coaching with young people

Strong communication and classroom management skills

A proactive, flexible, and supportive attitude

A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed

A degree or relevant qualification is advantageous but not essentialInterested?
