Description

Quantum Scholars are currently working with a well–regarded secondary school in Southampton in their search for a qualified and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is a full–time, permanent role.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to make a real difference in a supportive, inclusive, and forward–thinking school environment.

The school is a mixed comprehensive secondary school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, with a strong focus on student progress, staff development, and high–quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and well–structured Sociology lessons to students across KS3 and KS4

Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with the national curriculum

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported

Develop students' critical thinking, debate, and analytical skills

Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success

Participate in school life, including pastoral support and extra–curricular activities

Requirements:

A degree in Sociology or a related subject

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent UK–recognised teaching qualification

A strong passion for Sociology and a desire to inspire and engage learners

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

Prior experience teaching Sociology across KS3 and KS4 is essential
