About the Role

The Supply Register is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join Halewood Academy, a forward–thinking and inclusive school committed to ensuring that every student thrives.

We are looking for an individual who can lead, coordinate, and champion high–quality SEND provision across the school. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a supportive senior leadership team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

Requirements:

NASENCO qualification

OR

Extensive experience in a specialist SEND role, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation, effective interventions, and whole–school inclusion strategies

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

The ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, external agencies, and students

A proactive, solution–focused approach to ensuring excellent outcomes for learners with additional needs

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing the school s SEND provision and ensuring statutory requirements are met

Leading and supporting staff in effective SEND teaching and practice

Managing EHCP processes, reviews, interventions, and assessments

Working closely with pastoral teams, external professionals, and families

Driving inclusive practice and supporting positive student progress and wellbeing
