GSL Education is delighted to be recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic individual who is looking to make a real difference in the lives of students.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional needs within the classroom and in small-group interventions. Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

Providing targeted academic support to help students access the curriculum

Working one-on-one and with small groups to encourage engagement and participation

Assisting in the development of personalised learning strategies

Collaborating with the wider staff team and external professionals

Experience working with young people with additional needs is highly desirable

A calm, patient, and resilient nature

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to work effectively as part of a team
