We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a welcoming school in Huyton. This full–time role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who have special educational needs and to support their individual learning and development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities for students with special educational needs (SEN)

Providing individual and small–group support, helping students with SEN reach their full potential

Supporting students with emotional, physical, or behavioural needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere

Helping manage classroom behaviour in line with SEN strategies and maintaining a calm, supportive environment

Working with external specialists and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support personalised learning goals

Promoting the social and emotional well–being of students with SEN, encouraging confidence and independence

The Ideal Candidate:

A caring, patient, and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs

Experience working with children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities (desirable but not essential)

Knowledge of SEN strategies and a commitment to providing tailored support to each student

Able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals

Enthusiastic, with a positive attitude, and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of students with additional needs

Experience or training in behaviour management techniques, communication strategies (e.g., Makaton), or supporting students with autism or learning disabilities (desirable but not essential)

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEN and looking to make a real impact on their educational journey. If you're empathetic, proactive, and ready to contribute to an inclusive school community, we'd love to hear from you!

How to Apply:

Please submit your CV detailing your experience with SEN and explaining why you would be a great fit for this role.
