Pastoral Coordinator - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Job Type: Full-Time (Term Time Only + INSET Days)

Start Date: Term 3 - September

Contract: Temporary

We are a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets seeking a dedicated Pastoral Coordinator to join our student support team. This is a vital role at the heart of our school, focused on ensuring every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality pastoral care to students across all year groups

Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, and SEN teams to support student wellbeing

Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies

Monitor attendance, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing data to identify and address barriers to learning

Support with restorative conversations, mentoring, and positive behaviour strategies

Lead or assist in initiatives promoting mental health, personal development, and inclusion

Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working with young people in a pastoral, youth work, or educational setting

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills

Calm, compassionate, and solution-focused under pressure

Strong understanding of safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour management

Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

A commitment to the values of inclusion, equality, and student empowerment
