Contract: 0.5 Part–Time (Maternity Cover)

Key Stages: KS3–KS4

Start Date: January 2026

A Good secondary school in Darlington is seeking a dedicated and inspirational part–time Maths Teacher (0.5) to join their team from January as part of a maternity cover position. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on student progress across KS3 and KS4 while enjoying a balanced timetable in a supportive school environment.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, well–planned Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.

Teach a range of topics across KS3–KS4, maintaining high expectations for all learners.

Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages confidence and achievement.

Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of varied learners.

Assess and track student progress, offering clear and constructive feedback.

Support students in preparing for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.

Contribute to departmental planning and continuous improvement.

Participate in relevant enrichment or intervention sessions where appropriate.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching Maths at KS3–KS4.

Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.

A commitment to raising attainment and supporting student success.
