We're proud to be working in partnership with inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their teams as soon as possible or from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN).

Whether you have previous classroom experience or are looking to begin a rewarding career in education, this role offers valuable, hands–on experience and the chance to have a lasting impact.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing one–to–one and small group support to students with additional needs

Assisting teachers with differentiated learning activities and classroom organisation

Supporting students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges

Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion throughout the school day

Contributing to a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment

We're Looking For Someone Who

Is passionate about helping young people, especially those with SEN

Has a patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with students and staff

Is reliable, flexible, and works well as part of a team

Has experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN support (beneficial but not essential)

Is eager to learn, grow, and develop within a school setting

What You'll Gain in Return

A consistent, long–term position with potential for a permanent contract

The opportunity to work in welcoming, well–led Northampton schools

Competitive weekly pay, with pay–to–scale where applicable

Free access to professional development through Tradewind's National College platform – over 2,500 certified online courses including Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Behaviour Management, and Mental Health in Schools

Continuous support from experienced education consultants

A clear pathway into future careers such as teaching, therapy, or specialist SEN roles

Ready to make a difference ASAP or from January 2026?
