Job Title: Instructor / Unqualified Teacher

Location: Ryecroft School, Walsall, West Midlands WS2 7BH

Salary: GBP27,693.75 per annum ( not pro rata )

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Start: December 2025

As part of our continued growth in service, Ryecroft School is seeking a passionate and committed Instructor / Unqualified Teacher to join our SEN school.

About the Role

You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs. Through inclusive and personalised teaching, you will help young people grow academically, socially, and emotionally-empowering them to develop confidence, independence, and a real sense of achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lessons to individuals, small groups, and whole classes, adapting approaches to meet diverse learning needsPlan, assess, and monitor pupil progress, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), annual reviews, and reportsSupport pupils to build self-esteem, positive learning habits, and resilienceWork collaboratively with teachers, learning support assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic and joined-up educational experienceAssist in developing and delivering a curriculum that is accessible, meaningful, and tailored to each pupilPromote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils feel valued and ready to learnEngage in professional development, staff meetings, and wider school initiatives to continually enhance classroom practiceThis is an inspiring opportunity for someone who is genuinely committed to transforming the lives of pupils with SEN-encouraging growth, unlocking potential, and helping every child discover what they are truly capable of.

About Us

Ryecroft School is an independent day school in Walsall, providing specialist education for autistic children and young people aged 4-18 years.

We focus on meeting the unique learning needs of autistic pupils, including those with additional challenges such as learning disabilities and behaviours that may present as a result of their diagnoses. Our new school, which opened in September 2024, has a capacity for 60 pupils and is designed to support learners with autism and complex needs in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

Ryecroft School is located in Walsall, a vibrant market town in the West Midlands. The school is well connected, situated just 9 miles north-west of Birmingham, 7 miles east of Wolverhampton, and 9 miles from Lichfield, offering easy access for families across the region.

For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults. You'll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
