Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker seeking a new challenge? A welcoming secondary school in Blackpool is looking for a proactive professional to join our team in September 2025.

This is a full-time position where you'll make a real difference in the lives of our students and their families.

The Role and Key Responsibilities

As a Family Support Worker, you will be the key link between home and school, providing essential support to families to help our students thrive academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing Support: Offering advice, guidance, and practical support to parents and carers on a range of issues, including attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.

Case Management: Working directly with families to develop and implement support plans, advocating for their needs, and signposting to relevant external agencies.

Liaison: Building strong relationships with school staff, external services, and the wider community to ensure a coordinated approach to student welfare.

Safeguarding: Playing a crucial role in the school's safeguarding team, identifying and reporting concerns, and ensuring the well-being of all students.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Family Support Worker or in a similar pastoral role.

A strong understanding of the challenges faced by families and young people.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resilience and empathy.

Knowledge of local services and support networks in Blackpool.
