Your new school

Hays Education have recently seen an increased need for local Behaviour Mentors in Schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply.

Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Northamptonshire, covering the areas of Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley and all the in between! This means as a Teaching Assistant working through Hays you will have local work in your local area covering schools that only you want to work in.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an Specialist Primary School in Northampton for children aged 4-11 with a range of needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), ASD, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties who have struggled to settle happily into a mainstream provision. The school is passionate about supporting its students to develop emotional regulation skills and improve their readiness to learn. They are currently a school of 5 classes with varying needs, with approximately 7 children per class. The school has a fantastic offering for its students including an outdoor play area, and group lunches with staff to improve interaction

Your new role

We are currently recruiting for a full time Behaviour Mentor to join the team ASAP on a temporary - permanent basis. We are looking for exceptional people who thrive on working in challenging settings to work with the schools exceptional pupils. We are seeking people who thrive on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about supporting the development of social, life and independence skills and who truly want to make a difference in the lives of young people. The appointed person will be expected to make a real and positive impact to the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities that makes every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with living and learning tasks as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

The appointed candidates will have a minimum of 1 years' experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
