Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant seeking a rewarding new role? A supportive secondary school in Blackpool is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in September 2025.

This is a full-time position where you'll make a tangible difference in a student's educational journey.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a student with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), both inside and outside the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

Individualised Support: Working closely with a specific student to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

Pastoral Care: Providing emotional and social support to build the student's confidence and independence.

Liaison: Collaborating with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent and effective support strategy.

Reporting: Monitoring and documenting the student's progress and contributing to reviews and planning meetings.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEND students.

A strong understanding of different special educational needs and effective support strategies.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A proactive and adaptable approach to your work.
