Vintage Celestion Ditton 15XR Speakers
Brighton, East Sussex
£150
Description
Very nice examples of the ever popular Celestion Ditton 15XR.
The Ditton 15XR was a replacement for the hugely successful Ditton 15. XR stands for extended range, as the HD1000 fabric dome tweeter can cover higher frequencies than the original model's unit, and the bass goes lower. They use an 8 inch mid/bass driver, and a passive bass radiator. Impedance is 8 ohms. They are finished in real wood veneer.
The drivers are all original and working perfectly. The original electrolytic capacitors have been checked and are still within spec so I have left them be.
They sound great; warm and powerful, with great bass weight for the size.
The cabinets have had a few scratches filled and sanded, and they have been given a coat of Danish oil and look great.
