Our food is super yummy! We don't have a separate children's menu at Maggie & Rose, just big and little portions. We cook as healthily as possible, and we're always looking to inspire and delight our members with our delicious menus and specials.

At Maggie & Rose we really believe children should learn to taste and try all types of food. That's why we have the most innovative Nursery menu ever and awesome healthy menus in our cafe!

The role of chef is challenging, as you'll be expected to make sure the brigade is producing top-quality dishes and that chefs with talent are trained and developed. A sous chef must be familiar with all of the daily operations of the kitchen, and must be able to perform and task in the kitchen if needed.

You are the intermediary between the kitchen and cafe staff, so strong leadership and communication abilities are a must, keeping calm in stressful conditions. You must be able to lead the kitchen team, remain organised and professional and report vital information to Head Chef.

- Running the kitchen when the head chef is away.
- Ensuring your brigade has high culinary standards.
- Managing food purchasing and storage
- Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Helping create new recipes and write menus.
- Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.

- Prepare, cook and present delicious dishes within your speciality to the specific cafe/brasserie standards.
- Help the Head Chef to develop and maintain the menus both in the Nursery and Cafe.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions.

Hygiene/Healthy & Safety

- You and your team must have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of healthy and safety.
- Make sure your station and environment (Kitchen and Store Rooms) are spotlessly clean and hygiene is kept up at all times.
- Ensure the cleaning schedule is adhered to and that cleaning tasks are delegated as appropriate.

All Kitchen Staff are required to:

- Ensure compliance with legal requirements under the Health & Safety Act 1974 and Food Hygiene.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to.
- Actively attend general training, team building events and supplier visits to learn about local produce and improve knowledge.
