Description

🚗 Support Worker, B74. Fantastic weekend opportunity for experienced support workers to support an 18-year-old with Cerebral Palsy. Earn up to £19.80 gross per hour.

Location: Sutton Coldfield, B74

Salary/Wage: £17.80 weekdays | £19.80 weekends | £13.50 on-call night rate

Driving: Essential – own car required; WAV provided on duty

Accommodation: Private bedroom and bathroom while on shift

Essential: Experience managing behaviours that may challenge (using distraction, redirection, de-escalation). Strong interpersonal skills. Confidently supporting swimming activities

Desirable: Experience with Cerebral Palsy/physical disabilities. Experience in a family home

Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)

Hours: Minimum average 20.77 hours per week, working 3 out of 4 weekends per month. Shifts typically run from Friday/Saturday afternoon through to Sunday evening/Monday morning. Rotas planned 3 months in advance. Extra hours available during holidays and for cover.

About Jack: Jack is 18, bright, intuitive, and full of humour. Following an acquired brain injury, he has Cerebral Palsy, learning needs, a visual impairment, and well-managed epilepsy. He benefits from structure and consistent support.

He enjoys music, singing, dancing, swimming, the gym, outdoor activities, and socialising (some activities 2:1).

The Role: A hands-on role supporting Jack with daily living, personal care, mobility, transfers, and activities. Encourage independence and participation. Support gym, swimming, and social outings. Manage behaviours positively using established strategies. Build a consistent, trusting relationship. Night shifts are generally calm, with minimal support required.
