Description

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to support the delivery of high-quality resilience functions within the Local Resilience Forum (LRF).

Resilience Officer

Arnold, Nottingham

37 hours per week, permanent position Grade 6: £39,152 - £42,839 + On-Call allowance of £4,822 p.a.

Working alongside the LRF Team Manager, you will help develop, support, coordinate and deliver LRF business, policies and strategies, supporting their implementation in liaison with all LRF partner agencies. You will contribute to the delivery of the LRF Secretariat, supporting the effective and sustainable delivery of the Local Resilience Forum in line with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), associated regulations and guidance.

As part of the Secretariat team, you will draw on knowledge of emergency planning-related legislation, existing and emerging requirements, and the NFRS Core Code of Ethics. The Role

• Deliver high-quality LRF support to the LRF Executive and LRF Working Groups, including supporting the delivery, recording and actioning of meetings.

• Prepare, deliver, validate and review plans.

• Prepare, deliver and review multi-agency emergency response and recovery exercises.

• Proactively develop systems and processes to ensure best practice at all times.

• Set and maintain excellent standards of conduct and delivery.

• Ensure effective, timely and accurate communication with stakeholders.

• Develop and facilitate training and learning for LRF partners.

• Undertake, record, share and track learning from incidents and occurrences locally and nationally.

• Prepare and update delivery action plans to ensure delivery against key performance indicators.

• Support key projects to improve internal systems and processes and/or build resilience, including performance management, operational capability, strategic planning (including budget), stakeholder engagement, administration, LRF reform and innovation, and wider regional/national/international coordination.

• Represent the LRF in meetings and presentations as required by the LRF Team Manager.

• Collate, analyse and report data and performance to ensure timely and accurate information sharing and decision-making.

• Maintain and develop effective relationships with internal and external partners across the LRF.

• Provide availability for an on-call rota to assist LRF agencies during response and recovery.

• Be trained and maintain competence as a multi-agency loggist and maintain logs during exercises and real-time incidents.

• Ensure sustainable processes are in place to support LRF agencies during incident response, including supporting TCG, SCG and RCG Chairs when required.

• Undertake any other duties reasonably regarded as within the nature and grade of the post.

About You:

• Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), emergency planning legislation or resilience-related practice is desirable.

• Experience in multi-agency working, coordination or partnership environments is advantageous.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Competence in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to collate, analyse and report information accurately.

• A strong awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion.

• Ability to travel within Nottinghamshire (reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled candidates).

• Availability to participate in an on-call rota.
