Description
Hello, I'm Alasdair and I'm offering tutoring for Chemistry up to advanced higher level, and maths up to higher.
I have a Masters in pure & applied chemistry from the University of Strathclyde and am writing up my PhD thesis on the synthesis of Organic Semiconductors working under Professor Pete Skabara at Glasgow University.
I have been tutoring since 2019 in both a self employed and voluntury capacity, volunteering at MCR Pathways & the volunteer tutor organisation and have been a member of the PVG scheme since 2019.
l tutor in a way that I think would have benefitted me when I was in school.
I will look to ensure the student understands the fundamentals of the topic at hand, using real world examples and analogies, before looking to apply that knowledge to examination standard questions and exploring how to reach the correct conclusions.
I have a real interest in the physical sciences and the way it affects the world around us. I hope I can pass that interest on to anyone who wishes to learn more and explore it further.
Flat rate of £30 p/h for online, please get in touch to discuss in person tutoring availability.
Currently available from 5.30pm onwards on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays & after 7.30pm on Wednesdays. Please get in touch to discuss other availabilities.
