Rare opportunity to own and preserve a slice of British motoring heritage with this 1993 Rover, appreciating modern classic with only 32,500 genuine miles. Feel the unique ‘analogue’ driving experience, but with a touch of modernity, including power steering and brakes, and a lively yet economical engine with dependable mechanics.

New MOT - expires 18/11/2026 (4 new tyres but failed on exhaust silencer, no advisories - silencer replaced with used non-original for re-test). Used regularly, 7250 miles since purchased September 2025, but worsening health issues requiring automatic transmission requires reluctant sale.

No written documentation, but own research prior to purchase showed bought new by old couple from local rover garage, which maintained and serviced it regularly. Also, fourth and fifth owners I interviewed supported the narrative history, and that the indicated 24,800 miles was indeed genuine.
Interior is 'concours' condition and all original including factory radio cassette player and speakers which all work well. Good clean seats, upholstery, and carpets. with original floor mats, and pedal rubbers. All instrumentation works including, all switches, heater controls, indicator/wiper, etc. Exterior needs some attention to bring it to concours condition (see below). There is 1 spare key.

Drives and handles well. Idles erratically until warmed up but then OK. Cambelt checked at 30,000, had recently been replaced with new water pump, so not renewed. Engine oil was clean but replaced it together with new filter. Still clean 2,000 miles and same level on dipstick though very slight weeping of oil from cam cover. No signs of any other fluid leaks.

Although garaged most of its life, the body paint work shows some signs of UV discolouration which is more pronounced on the bonnet. Front electric windows work and rear nearside manual window. Sunroof handle is stiff, as is the rear offside manual window winder, so I’ve never tried to open them. As you will see from the last of the photos, there’s some minor exterior damage: bumpers show signs of scuffs and dings, with one small crack and 1cm of red beading missing from front offside bumper and 2/3rds of the front grill under the offside indicator missing. All damage appears to be from misjudged parking errors with no signs of any serious collision impact. All four wheel arches have rust bubbling through paintwork at the edges, and similar rust inside centre door pillars. All exterior panels are without dents or marks except what appears to be a supermarket-like-trolly ding just below the fuel filler cap.

Payment terms and conditions: a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of £250 payable on purchase (bank account details given after purchase confirmed), and full payment due within 7 days (I’m looking for serious buyers only, not those ‘buying for time’ while they get the rest of the balance arranged). Bank wire transfer is preferable for the balance remaining, although I will accept cash, providing the purchaser accompanies me to my bank for payment into my account, so that the cashier can confirm that notes are not counterfeit.

Collection of vehicle: this must be done within 30 days of purchase. Whether you collect the vehicle in person or arrange for collection, unless the total of the sale price agreed is paid in full, I’ll not sign or hand over the V5 registration document or the 2 keys.
