Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Credit Controller to join a well-established Retail business in Bristol. You'll be joining a supportive finance team during a period of growth and change, where your contribution will be highly valued. In this role, you'll take ownership of the credit control function, ensuring the smooth and timely collection of outstanding payments. You'll be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients, resolving queries efficiently, and supporting the wider finance team with reporting and reconciliation tasks.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is confident in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. The role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in the healthcare sector, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

Monitor and manage outstanding debts

Chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and letter

Allocate payments and reconcile accounts

Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity

Liaise with internal departments and external clients to resolve queries

Prepare reports on debtor status and escalate issues where necessary

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience in a credit control or similar finance role

Strong communication and negotiation skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) is desirable.
