Description

Sales & Customer Service
• Ensure welcoming, efficient front of house, ensure that service staff provide customers with prompt, professional, efficient service
• Ensure immaculate personal presentation of all service staff, adhering to company dress code
• Ensuring cash handling procedures are adhered to and that customer billing is correct
• Maintain full and comprehensive knowledge of the menu, specials etc, able to advise customers and service staff on all dishes offered
• Strive to continuously improve customer service


Operations
• Achieve targets and objectives set
• Ensure that restaurant is set up for service, monitoring and assisting waiting staff
• Ensure that restaurant runs smoothly, maintaining high standards of provision and service
• Deal efficiently and effectively with customer complaints, operational problems
• Monitor and maintain stock levels to operational requirements


Budgeting & Planning
• Ensure budgets are met and profits are maximised


Leadership & Staff Development
• Provide inspiring and motivational leadership
• Conduct staff appraisals, setting objectives, providing feedback on progress, agreeing training needs
• Induction of new employees
• Maintain high morale by recognising and rewarding outstanding performance and service

Human Resources
• Plan and manage staff rotas, overtime and holiday ensuring effective resourcing
• Monitor staff sickness, absence and time-keeping ensuring adherence to company rules and procedures, where necessary implement the disciplinary procedure
• Discipline employees in line with the company disciplinary procedure
• Ensure that all staff comply with the statutory and company Health Safety & Environment policies and procedures

Communication
• Communicate regularly with restaurant and kitchen staff
• Hold weekly staff meetings and encourage input from the team
Qualifications

• 5 GCSE grade A-C including maths and English or equivalent
• Professional restaurant management qualification (HNC/HND)
• Other relevant professional qualification (food & beverage related)
• Food hygiene and appropriate HS&E & First Aid accreditation/certification
• Fluent written and spoken English


Experience

• 6 + years restaurant management experience
• Proven track record of effective leadership/management
• Although not essential, experience of working within a broad range of cuisines/types of restaurants/hospitality industry would be an advantage
• Experience of working with multi cultural teams
