Other green spaces nearby include Arthur's Seat, Salisbury Crags, Blackford Pond and the Hermitage of Braid.

Regular buses serve this area leading into the city centre and to other parts of Edinburgh. Travelling by car in a Southerly direction takes you to the Edinburgh City Bypass and from there to the motorway network.

The location is perfect for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as it is very close to Newington, the Pleasance, Teviot and Bristo Square as well as many other Festival venues.
