Description
Ive been looking for somewhere to live for quite a while now and thought I’d put a post up in case anyone can help.
I’m 29 and looking for a long-term place to call home. I’ve unfortunately been in temporary accommodation for the past 5 years, so stability is really important to me now. I’m planning to start studying for a law degree with the Open University in February, so I’m really hoping to find somewhere settled where I can focus on that.
I’ve been actively trying to find housing but have struggled due to not having a guarantor and not currently being in work. I don’t drink or party, I’m quiet, respectful, and keep things clean and tidy.
I’m looking in specific parts of Cornwall, not the whole county ideally areas like Liskeard, Callington, and Launceston, so I’m still within a reasonable distance of Plymouth. I’m also open to places in Devon including Tavistock, Exeter, Newton Abbot, and Crediton and other places
In terms of rent, in Cornwall my housing element is £550, and I’d be happy to top this up myself if needed, although ideally I’d be looking for something around £600 or less. In Devon, I’m entitled to £620.
It’s been a long journey and I just feel i need to finally have a proper home. If anyone has anything available or knows of anything, I’d really appreciate you getting in touch.
I currently receive Universal Credit (higher rate) and PIP.
