An amazing and important emerald and diamond halo ring by Italian High Jewellery (Haute Couture) firm ANDREOLI.


The 18K white gold ring comprising of an exceptional large and extremely clear 12.16 Carat emerald of finest possible medium dark, strong, blueish green hue and saturation, is graded as a triple AAA quality bG(16) 6/5. The eye clean emerald has a clarity corresponding to a VVS range for a Type 3 gemstone and has been graded by the GCS - London Gemological Lab. The emerald's gemological characteristics have attributed it to be of a Brazil origin, which is one of the rarest emerald sources after Muzo mine, which is considered to be producing the rarest of Colombian emeralds. The present Brazilian emerald measures 14.8x13.2x7.6mm and has a weight of 12.16 carats with moderate cedar oil enhancement, which is an industry standard. However, due to its superb clarity and nearly no surface reaching fissures, we would strongly recommend this particular gem to be graded with a second gem lab like GRS in Switzerland, as it is very possible it will receive a minor clarity enhancement grade. No other clarity enhancements have been found to be present, putting this emerald at the very top of the list of most desirable emeralds both in terms of color, clarity, quality and size.

Although the mesmerising appearance of the present large and and bulging emerald is a statement by itself, it is further accented by a halo border of carefully graduated and cut baguette diamonds. There are 16 large such diamond baguettes set around the emerald centerpiece, as well as another 24 graduated emerald cut diamond baguettes closed set on both sides of the ring's shank. All 40 diamonds have an exceptional E white color grade and a VVS1 clarity on an average basis. Total estimated diamond weight is in the 3.0 Carat range.

The top / face of the ring measures about 22x21mm and when worn on a ring it stays a nearly 10mm above the finger. Ring size is 55 (US size 7.25 / UK size O), but it can be resized by an experienced jeweller. Gross weight of the ring is 14.85 grams in 18 karat white gold with some yellow gold accents. The ring is hallmarked 750 for 18K gold, as well as possesses the Italian numerical maker's mark 3499 AL for the Italian high jewellery manufacturer firm Andreoli. The ring has most likely been a custom order to the firm, hence no further signatures are present except for the maker's mark.
