Has london lost it's music scene?

I would be very interested to find out what people think about that.

Approximately half the music venues have closed and paid work as a pro musician is hard to come by with busking often a more relalistic option than doing a gig and bars get free entertainment and extra customers by hosting open mics which drive down the quality of music the public hear and may put them off live music. This is also a less than helpful attitude between musicians and it's horribly competitive and few really good artists making classic music are coming from London.

What in your opinion has happened. Is there a war against musicians and creatives happening with streaming sites offering on average less than a penny a stream and music seen as a free commodity?

Does anyone need to vent about this and try and find a way forward
