Description
This fine set of four teak dining chairs have such a distinctive design. It’s taken quite the investigation to attribute them. We initially thought they were British in origin but we’re now confident they’re Danish, made by Glostrup Modelfabrik and date from the 1960s. They’re top quality with a heavy, solid construction but despite their stocky, wide stance, there are some superb details. The
wave of the side bars and the contours of the wooden back are beautiful. They still have the original black vinyl fabric which actually complements the rich, warm teak there are some areas that are worn but it would be an easy inexpensive job to recover them if it didn’t suit. It would be worthwhile as they’re a super set with provenance and heritage.
