Vintage bike for sale

For sale – one vintage ladies bike, although could obviously be used by anyone

Background personal – my father has had this bike in his shed for years, possibly since the 1970s as he seems to have had this bike for as long as I can remember, and was always talking of restoring same and using it, however he never got round to doing same. Sadly my father passed away last year and as I have no interest in bikes I feel that it is now time to find a new home for this bike where it will be more appreciated.

The bikes history - I know very little about this bike other than my father had it for years, however upon inspection I would advise as follows:

Brand – the bike is made by Phillips of Birmingham and has a metal badge with the co. name and its logo, i.e. a traditional ‘British lion’ and the logo, “made in Birmingham, renowned the world over”. Generally speaking the badge looks 'old fashioned' in style rather than being modern, in which case I would put it at pre-1960s.

Condition – the bike appears to be in generally good condition, however I would advise that both the handle bars and the seat do not look like originals to me, I am guessing my father got these parts elsewhere and put them on this bike, indeed I am sure that the seat came off a bike I had when I was a kid.

Phillips Bikes – I have done a little bit of research on Philipps bikes and have copied the following from Wikipedia.

Phillips Cycles Ltd. was a British bicycle manufacturer based in Smethwick near Birmingham, England. Its history began early in the 20th century and ended in the 1980s by which time it had become part of Raleigh Industries, itself a part of the Tube Investments group. For a number of years, the company was the second-largest bicycle producer in Britain, after Raleigh. The company motto, which was carried on all its badges, was "Renowned the World Over". The "Phillips" brand is still used around the world, especially in China and the Far East, having been licensed by Raleigh. In India it was produced from Madras presently called Chennai.
Products
The company produced millions of bicycles, many of which were exported, and also manufactured several mopeds. These mopeds included the 'Panda' and 'Gadabout' models. The earliest of these machines (circa 1958 to 1962) were all produced in the United Kingdom except for the German 'Rex' engines but later models (Panda Mk 3 and Gadabout) were licensed versions of the Mobylette moped made by Motobécane of France.
Prototypes
In 1956, Phillips unveiled the world's first titanium bicycle frame.[1] Unlike modern titanium components, pure titanium was used as opposed to alloys.[2]

Age – based on the above the bike could date from early 20thC up to the 1980s, however I would say that it is probably 1960s or 1970s at the latest as my Dad has had this bike since the 1970s, however it could be older.
