My client are looking to employ an Air & Road Operations Coordinator to work from their offices based in St Albans.

With a highly skilled loyal and enthusiastic team working to a quality system, combined with the financial back up of our parent company, they have developed an excellent reputation in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Main Function of the job
This position forms part of the existing Operations Team. It requires the jobholder to participate in the day to day air freight and road transport operation and all of the related administration. To build relationships with the Existing clients and deliver a high standard of customer care at all times.

Duties:
• Managing the day to day export and import bookings of European road transport and Worldwide air freight shipments.
• Raising job files and all of the appropriate paperwork including Air Way Bills and Collection instructions.
• Processing the jobs utilising the software system.
• Customs entries using the NES System.
• Extensive client liaison both written (email) and verbal (telephone).
• Extensive supplier liaison and negotiation.
• Internal liaison with the sales team assisting with quotations and service status information.
• Invoicing jobs on completion.

Experience/ Skills Required
• Air or Road freight operations experience, ideally with an export bias.
• Customer service experience with the ability to build strong relations.
• Experience of calculating freight quotations.
• Negotiating skills to maximise gross profit.
• Strong organisational and administration skills.
• Good IT Skills

• Confident communicator. (Written and verbal)
• Good attention to detail.
• Calm under pressure

Salary: £26,000-£30,0000 circa depending on experience + Contributary Pension
Position: Permanent
Hours: Mon-Fri 8.00-18.00
