Tooling Design Engineer

Derby (on-site)

£44 per hour

Initially 6/12-month contract

Certain Advantage is excited to partner with a pioneering engineering organisation working at the cutting edge of Nuclear and Defence innovation. We’re looking for a highly creative and technically capable Design Engineer to join their expanding Energy & Infrastructure team. If you thrive on solving complex challenges, pushing the limits of design, and collaborating in fast-paced, future-focused environments—this one’s for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop engineering components and assemblies for high-impact projects

Turn concept into reality using CAD (ideally Siemens NX) with high levels of accuracy and creativity

Innovate across new products, methods, and solutions in demanding technical contexts

Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability

Confidently present design concepts and final outcomes to internal teams and clients

Your Background:

Experience as a Design Engineer or similar role in highly regulated environments

Advanced CAD skills – Siemens NX preferred

A solid understanding of safety standards in engineering and manufacturing

Passion for innovation and engineering progress

A collaborative, adaptable mindset – you enjoy working in a high-performing team
