About the Assistant Development Chemist Role

The purpose of the position is to support all group R+D projects. The work will primarily focus on the development new products and fundamental research in the filtration of valuable liquids. It will also include the development of filtration media in food and beverage, frying oil and life sciences sectors. The role will also require support during prototype production of new products.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis in all of areas of R+D, including frying oil, activated carbon, spirits filtration and food and beverage applications.
Filtration performance testing.
Support prototype production trials.
Carry out frying study assessments and assist in field trials.
Aid in the development of new products and investigating the use of new materials and technologies.
Provide technical service to Global Marketing and Sales teams.
Manage project work effectively to achieve objectives within project timeline.
Prepare project and progress reports.
Contribute to project reviews and participate Group R+D meetings.
Liaise with other departments as appropriate.
Ensure the highest possible housekeeping standards are set and maintained.

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified scientist with a hands-on practical approach to development work and field trials. You will have excellent project management skills, be commercially aware and profit focussed.

Key Skills and Experience

BSc degree in Chemistry or Chemistry related subject is preferred.
Some work experience in research or product development within the manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
