About the opportunity:

We are recruiting experienced Principal Hydraulic Modellers to meet rapidly increasing demand from our major clients. You will join one of our dynamic modelling teams and immediately begin work on high profile and innovative flood modelling projects and programmes.

This is a 6 month contract, with possibility to become permanent for the right candidate. You will be working flexibly, either in offices or at home and we welcome part time and full time applicants to the role.

Qualifications:

With a keen interest in natural processes and water related issues you are commercially aware and work effectively to budgets and timescales. An enthusiastic problem solver, you like to innovate, find new solutions and improve ways to contribute. You are confident both working independently and collaboratively as a part of a multidisciplinary team. You wish to develop and expand your technical capability and welcome additional responsibility.

Essential

• Significant management experince in the Hydraulic field and extensive knowledge of Flood Modeller and TUFLOW software

• Good academic knowledge in hydraulics, hydrology and/or water resources

• Solid Proficiency in GIS software such as Mapinfo/ArcGIS/QGIS

• Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Working towards Chartership with ICE, CIWEM or a relevant professional body

Desirable:

• Masters degree or doctorate in a related subject

• Hold a valid UK driving licence

• Skill in UK Flood Hydrology, Flood Forecasting, ICM Infoworks
