Description

Hi all,

Does anybody have a Fluke or similar *industrial* multimeter they no longer need?
Its OK if it doesnt work properly or doesnt have leads. I can buy leads or replace any blown MOVs, fuses etc. Don't care if it doesn't have capacitance etc, I have an LCR meter for that.
I'm totally fed up of unreliable and unsafe cheap multimeters but I can't afford a Fluke.

If it matters I mostly use my electronics skills to repair stuff for people free; I really hate seeing stuff headed for the bin for want of a 10 minute fix..

Mostly its just crimping in a new thermal fuse, replacing cords or internal fuses, swapping out swollen PSU capacitors, etc.
But sometimes its tricky, dry joints from lead-free solder, dodgy crimps on wiring looms etc.

Things like that are a complete nightmare when you can't trust your test gear.
Plus for anything with live mains the cheap meters often claim to be Class III/IV etc but theres no way they are; no PCB isolation slots, cheap soldered in glass fuses - complete horror show.

I'd be grateful if you could help. I can collect.

Free would be ideal but I can maybe afford to pay a bit for it, or perhaps an exchange if theres anything you're after? I have lots of interesting and useful things.

Thanks, JIm
