Mechanic in Penicuik

Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic to play a key role in establishing a recently opened garage in Penicuik. This is a unique opportunity to join from the ground up, shape how we operate, and be part of building a trusted local garage business from the start.

About the Role:

Carry out a range of mechanical repairs, servicing, diagnostics, and MOT preparations (MOT tester status would be a bonus).
Advise on repair options and liaise with customers to deliver exceptional service.
Help set up and develop workshop processes and standards alongside management.
Assist in growing the business by maintaining high-quality work and building strong local relationships.
Operate tools, diagnostics equipment, and software effectively.

What We’re Looking For:

Extensive experience as a qualified mechanic (minimum 5+ years).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
A proactive mindset – excited to be part of setting up and growing a new garage.
Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £35,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
