For sale is this 1996 MX-5.

The car as can be seen in MOT history has failed it's most recent MOT test on front offside chassis rail corrosion. The tester tells me the car is repairable and that repair panels are available ready to weld on for roughly £70 per panel plus labour. I barely use the car as can be seen on MOT history (less than 200 miles per year) and own several other vehicles so I don't see the point in repairing it just to sit in my garage all year.

The car has never been stored outside since I bought it. I haven't used it at all this year and only bothered MOTing it as there was an extra timeslot at the garage when I had another vehicle tested.

Onto the good points: the sills inner and outer, the front wings, rear wings and inner wheel arches have been replaced professionally 3 years ago. I have photographic proof and documentation for this. The sills were cavity waxed after replacement and I expect them to last for many years to come.

The car is an excellent runner, drives and handles sweet. Never fails to start first time and has aftermarket exhaust manifold. There is a new aluminium radiator fitted to the car

As to the interior, factory option MoMo steering wheel and matching leather seats and dash trim. As you can see the seats are excellent and the car includes several rare factory interior options.

All electronics are good. The soft top is relatively new bought by previous owner and is in excellent condition. All tyres good, 2 new calipers on the rear. Coilovers on suspension with service history.

2 keys.

The car has extensive documentation and receipts for basically anything done to it for the past 20 years. I will of course provide this with the car, I also have an abridged summary of it.

Please note the stereo and floor mats will not be supplied with the car. This is because they are expensive additions that I will sell separately. I can of course provide them for additional cost.

I also have a freshly refurbished set of alloy wheels never fitted to a car since refurb. I never had the chance to fit them as I was going to use a set of tyres before fitting them and simply never did the mileage. These will be sold separately or can be supplied for additional cost.
