The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of transport operations at a busy, multi–site logistics company based in Essex.

Managing a fleet of 20–40 vehicles, you'll oversee multi–drop, groupage, and general haulage operations, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and service delivery.

You'll lead, coach, and develop a skilled team of Transport Planners and drivers – bringing out the best in your people and driving continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily transport operations across multiple UK sites.

Lead and develop a team of Transport Planners and operational staff.

Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and Operator Licence requirements.

Oversee planning, routing, and vehicle utilisation for multi–drop and groupage services.

Deliver operational excellence, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Foster a motivated, high–performing team culture.

About You

Manager CPC qualification – ESSENTIAL

Experience managing a multi–drop, groupage, or general haulage operation.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Commercially astute, with a proactive approach to problem–solving and performance improvement.

The Company

This well–established, medium–sized logistics brand employs around 200 staff across four UK sites.

Due to continued success and growth – including a recent move into a new facility at London Gateway – an exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Transport Manager to take a leading role in their next phase of expansion.

What's on Offer

Salary: 50,000 – 60,000 (DOE)

Holidays: 30 days (rising to 33 with service)
