Operations Support Administrator

Newcastle Upon Tyne

Full–Time, Permanent

This role sits at the heart of the Freight Desk, supporting day–to–day operational and administrative activity. You ll help manage freight movements, coordinate transport requirements, support customs processes, and keep communication flowing across carriers, customers, and internal teams. Accuracy, organisation, and a proactive attitude are key.

Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you ll take ownership of:

Core Freight Desk administration including data entry, document control, and shipment file management. Ensuring all customs obligations are fulfilled accurately and on time for both import and export activity. Coordinating daily freight movements across all modes, ensuring capacity is used effectively and carriers receive timely information. Providing clear communication and operational visibility across the Freight Desk team. Supporting wider departments with administrative tasks when required. Assisting other Customer Support team members during quieter periods to keep workflow consistent.

Desirable Skills & Experience

We re looking for someone who brings:

Excellent communication skills. Strong administration capability with a solid eye for detail. Previous experience in an administrative role. Good organisational and time–management skills. A positive, proactive, and team–focused attitude. Consistent professionalism in appearance, timekeeping, and overall work ethic. Previous experience within a freight forwarding or shipping organisation is highly advantageous
