Faircut Junior Centre Lathe
Made in Sheffield 75- 90 years ago
High quality gap bed lathe with many features not found on contemporary machines- graduations on cross slide and main spindle
Gearbox (was an optional extra)
Back gear for extra torque
T slotted cross slide (optional extra) 8 x 4 “ this points to it being a later model
Enclosed dog clutch
End guard covering change gears (removed in video but shown on the table)
Makers brass plate
1 Morse taper to spindle and tail stock, can do taper turning by off setting tail stock
4” diameter 3 jaw Burnerd Chuck and key
0,5hp motor connected via V belts
Spindle nose thread 3/4” x 12 tpi
Machine is approx 35” long
Centre height is 3.5”
9” capacity in gap
Approx 12.5” between centres
Swarf tray
This is all mounted on a piece of worktop so that it is basically plug in ( 240v) and play. Should fit in most cars with seats down motor can be separated to make it lighter to move
Very smooth lathe to operate. Collection from north Cumbria near Carlisle/M6
