Dell, arguably the most reliable brand of laptop/PC in the world, that is why they are used in all our hospitals. As you can see from the photos, it is in very good condition. It has the latest shaped anti-reflect 12.5 inch HD screen (16:9 ratio 1366 x 768 pixels) that is as new, no scratches, dead pixels, or pressure marks. Above the keyboard you will find three useful buttons: The first one is mute/unmute the second is volume down, the third volume up.
Performance wise you will be impressed, at its' heart lies a 2nd generation i5 processor, it has a base frequency of 2.6GHz to conserve energy but, when the going gets tough, each of the cores will burst to 3.3GHz, giving an awesome total processing power of 13.2GHz! it has 2 cores but 4 threads, it is therefore seen by the system as a quad core and acts as such (see photo 8), combine this with 4GB of the fastest DDR3 ram (1600MHz)... result...you have a very good all round performer. The graphics are inbuilt but 2nd Generation Intel graphics will play quite a lot of the 3D games but, not all, so if you require the laptop for gaming, please first Google, HD Graphics 3000 Game Debate, in order to determine whether or not it will run the games you want it to. The answer to the MineCraft folk out there is yes it will, both versions 1 & 2, with all the highest settings selected and bonus, Windows 10 comes pre-installed with MineCraft as standard.
For the new owner I have done a fresh install of Windows 10 Professional (64 bit), after installing that I also installed Microsoft Office 2013, both were then activated and fully updated. I then did the following to ensure you have a very competent operating system whether at home, or in the Office and, weighing under 4lbs, it is ideal for commuting with.
1) It has a HD camera and an internal microphone so, I installed Skype, for your free Skype to Skype video calls, this also enables Facebook video calling. Windows 10 has a built in app called Camera, I therefore created a task bar short-cut to it, this makes it very easy for you to make video's for work related tasks, or for posting onto your social network sites.
2) For ease of use and so you have a fully functioning laptop straight out the box. I have also installed Google Chrome, along side Internet Explorer and Edge (for decent browsing), I added Ad blocker to Chrome so that eliminates all those annoying adverts, Microsoft's Security Essentials, for your internet security, it has excellent speakers so I installed iTunes and put a few hundred songs in there to get you started, Driver Booster (to ensure you always have the latest Drivers) and last but, not least, a very good PC health care program, run this every few weeks and the laptop's operating system will always be in tiptop condition. Self praise is no recommendation but I am pretty good with laptops so no rubbish has been downloaded with any of these programs.
3) For your Home Entertainment I have installed Kody, and have properly set it all up. It is the worlds best media centre, it gives you access to all the latest movies, live TV, Sky sports channels, documentaries, cartoons 1000's of radio stations, etc.. etc... Very easy to use for streaming or downloading and it is completely free. Say goodbye to monthly subscriptions, you will not need them when you have this and bonus, this laptop also has HDMI so, you will be able to cast both your computer screen and the audio, straight onto your TV, with just one cable, it is also Wi-Fi enabled so, if your TV supports blue-tooth you can connect them wireless.
Windows 10 also has a built in restore partition, which will enable you to reset it to factory default with the option of keeping, or deleting your personal files,(it gives you those options) very handy should you be unfortunate enough to download and accept any critical viruses.
On the left side of the laptop (progressing from the rear to the front) contains a legacy VGA port, a combination eSATA/USB 2.0 port, a combination headphone/microphone jack, followed by a stacked module containing an SD card and smart card slot after the exhaust ventilation slot.
On the right side of the laptop, again progressing from the rear to the front are a single HDMI slot, two USB 2.0 ports, the WiFi ‘radio toggle switch’, followed by a 34mm ExpressCard slot.
The power Jack is at the rear and on the underside, there is a docking port should you wish to add other peripherals.
. This laptop does have one issue, the touchpad does not work, whilst cleaning the internals, I broke the clip which connects the touchpad ribbon to the motherboard. Accordingly, this laptop comes to you with a Logitech wireless mouse, with that the laptop is 100% usable since the touchpad is the only issue. It also comes to you with its; original Dell branded charger and original Dell branded battery which, as you can see from photo 9, will keep you powered up, away from the mains for up to 3 hours 2 mins.
To arrange a meeting and to put this laptop through its' paces, text me (John) on 07387648308, no calls please as I am usually busy. You will not be disappointed, everything, bar the touchpad is in perfect running order, it is in very good condition, it is stylish and gives excellent performance. This is a quality built laptop and new, the starting price for this model was £1275 and they went up to £1545, This configuration would have been in the middle. Normally I sell these laptops at £160, for the touchpad issue I am deducting £35 plus, I am throwing in a Logitech wireless mouse which, cost me £10 so, a bargain for someone, especially if you prefer using a mouse to a touchpad so, £125 no offers please.
