Chef Manager- Meat:Stack Edinburgh

Working 40 hours per week initially on a 3 month temporary contract - Flexibility needed with shifts as the site is open 7 days a week.

Meat:Stack are currently looking for a Chef Manager to be based in the restaurant at Salt Horse in Edinburgh. As Chef Manager you will be in charge of the smooth running of the kitchen, leading a small catering team and daily stock orders. You will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and facilities to include all aspects of Health and Safety. The kitchen is open 7 days a week (You will have an assistant and access to temporary staff, however as manager you will be managing the site and as such will lead on the busy shifts). You will need to be happy to get stuck in and work over all aspects including keeping the kitchen clean and in line with health and safety requirements.

Day to day the role involves you cooking and managing the site with the support of an assistant. You will also be involved in costing's and finances, ordering and weekly update meetings with the directors. We are looking for manager who can plan, cook, organise and monitor the controls on food quality, presentation and service. You will be used to using fresh ingredients to create dishes of a high standard.

As the Chef Manager you will report into the company directors. We are looking for candidates with a background of Chef Management within a Business and Industry site. The role is predominantly 5 days from 7, however some flexibility will be needed to cover the needs of the business as it operates days, nights and weekends.

As Chef Manager you will need to have the following:
• A background as a Chef Manager / Head Chef
• Quality cooking standards using fresh ingredients whilst being conscious of the set budgets
• The ability to lead by example
• Financial awareness with the ability to work within budgets.
