Description

I have decided to sell my Mk1 bike as I just haven’t bonded with it. As you can see, it is an extremely clean example. It has done about 18K miles. Tyres and chain and sprockets have plenty of life left in them. I have changed oil and filter (Silkolene semi synthetic), replaced air filter (I still have the one I removed, which has been cleaned and oiled ready to use in the future), replaced spark plugs with NGK Laser Iridium, checked valve clearances. I have also cleaned the calipers. Whilst doing this I noticed that the steel plate brackets beneath the front mudguard were quite rusty (a common issue I understand), so I removed them, removed rust, primed with Rustoleum, then a top coat of black Smoothrite. I think it is fair to say they are now far better protected than when new!
As usual when buying a new bike, I spent a lot of money on farkles;-
Givi touring screen
Bar risers
Radiator guard
Fenda Extenda on front mudguard
Givi rear hugger
Oxford heated grips
Footpeg lowering kit
Mirror Extenders
Gi Pro digital gear indicator
12v DIN socket
Givi Monokey top box base plate (it had a Monolock plate on the bike when I bought it which, strictly speaking, should only be used on scooters and smaller bikes)
Givi pannier rails (they are the ones that can take most monokey panniers, not the ones that limit you to a single type of pannier)
Seat reworked to my requirements by Tony Archer. This involved slightly increasing the width and also additional depth to the rider area. I like a taller seat. Obviously this could be sold on and replaced with a standard one if preferred.
I was intending to use the bike all year, so I have fitted bar muffs. To prevent the muffs being blown into the levers at higher speeds I have fitted some lever guards (these are the things race bikes use to stop their front brakes being applied if contact is made with another bike)
I haven’t added this lot up exactly, but I am pretty sure it is over £600 worth!
Three previous owners stated on V5, the last one having owned the bike since 2009. Not a bike that has been ‘around the houses’!
MOT expire 16th May 2018.
Owners Manual and service booklet present.
Two keys
All old MOTs presesnt.
The digital instrument cluster developed a fault back in 2014 and another cluster was fitted. This is documented in the paperwork. The old one read 16846 when replaced and the new one read 20989, therefore the bike has actually covered about 4K less than currently displayed. Currently diplaying 21996, therefore the bike has actually done about 18K.

I am looking for £2300 for the bike, which is less than it owes me. Isn't it always! I am located just outside Cambridge. I can be fairly flexible with viewing as I am semi retired now. I may be able to assist with delivery, depending on your location.
I have priced this very competitively to sell, so no daft offers please.
