You’ll provide a brilliant service in a number of ways - installing, disconnecting and repairing a variety of media products both in people’s homes and at street sites.
When you turn up in your van, your customers will be pleased to see you. Not just because you’re there to fix their TV, broadband or phone, but because they know they’re going to get friendly, safe and reliable service.
You’ll ask all the right questions and use a range of equipment, including signal meters and toning kits, to carry out diagnostic tests and analyse technical problems to identify the cause. And, when you’ve decided on the best solution, you’ll provide a first time fix wherever possible – liaising with colleagues in other departments to escalate any faults that can’t be resolved immediately.
Clearly communicating any technical details in a way that your customer can understand, you’ll ensure that they’re happy with the outcome. But it’s not just about fixing problems. It’s about identifying any other needs a customer might have. You’ll make them even happier by telling them about the other great Virgin products they could be enjoying. Of course that will make us happier too, because by spotting any up-selling or cross-selling opportunities, you’ll be helping us to grow our business.
We’ll help you to grow your skills and experience through coaching and training sessions and one-to-one development meetings. Meanwhile, daily email alerts and team briefing sessions will enable you to keep your product, technical and systems knowledge up to date - and help you meet a variety of targets.
With a full, clean, driving licence you’ll also need practical experience gained in a construction, telecoms, IT, cable running, electrical, or other technical background. You’ll need some basic computer skills too, so that you can use a hand-held PDA to check your schedules, review customer details and complete the relevant records and forms.
